Ripe with muscular movement and lush sensuality, The Chimera Project continues its assault on artistic complacency with THE HIDDEN SPOT, a fierce, kinetic exploration of faith, doubt, and spiritual yearning. Led by acclaimed artistic director/choreographer Malgorzata Nowacka, The Chimera Project is known for its robust, no-holds-barred approach to contemporary dance. Nowacka's boundary-pushing, gravity-defying works fuse elements of ballet, urban, contact improvisation and martial arts.

In THE HIDDEN SPOT, Nowacka explores the notion of personal space and personal faith with vigor, honesty and lush impropriety, taking the viewer on a quest to find the mysterious place where faith lives. Is it innate or manufactured? Does it pull us from the outside, or push us from the inside? In an increasingly secular world, does anyone have faith in faith?

Founded in 1999,The Chimera Project was quickly recognized as one of Canada's most innovative and daring contemporary dance companies frequently landing on year-end Top Ten lists, including The Globe and Mail in 2001, 2003 and 2006, and NOW magazine in 2006. Nowacka was also the recipient of the Paula Citron fFIDA award for Emerging Artists.
